We aim to keep every article and instrument profile accurate, and we welcome being told when something is wrong.

How to flag something

If you believe a fact in one of our articles or instrument profiles is inaccurate or out of date, please use our Contact page and include the page URL and a brief description of the issue. If you can point to a source that supports a correction, that helps us verify it faster, though it is not required to submit a report.

How we handle a correction

When we confirm that a correction is needed, we update the affected page and adjust its listed revision date. For a factual error that meaningfully changes the meaning of a passage, we may also note briefly within the article that it has been updated. We do not quietly rewrite history on substantial factual matters without some record that a change was made.

Judgment calls versus errors

Some topics in this library involve genuine variation across regions, traditions, or historical sources rather than a single right answer, such as a tuning convention that differs between teachers or regions. In those cases, we aim to represent the range of common practice rather than treat any one convention as the sole correct one, and a correction request pointing to a different regional practice may lead us to broaden a passage rather than replace it outright.
